The Improved Maize Sheller

Madraam Engineers Limited have developed an improved Maize Sheller for shelling maize, this provided maize grains ready for further processing (milling and other processes) with a shelling efficiency, cleaning efficiency, and grain recovery efficiency of 98.08 %, 97.89% and 97.65 % respectively. The equipment provides proper separation of cobs and maize grains with which the residue (cobs) can be used for further agricultural use as biomass and manure. The Sheller provides an output capacity of 2.2 tons/hr. for every ¼ liter of petrol consumed.  This will result in development of low cost shellers with increased capacity, robustness, portable, less drudgery with a feasible option for remote areas. This is likely to improve the quality of maize produce with acceptable standards, and could cut down the exploitation of maize middlemen on farmers. The business intends on fabricating these improved maize shellers and sell them to the market at subsidized costs as well as assume a middle man position and shell maize for farmers at a mutual agreed cost/tonnage.
